LEED & AMERICLAD ACCREDITATION

Materials and Resources

MR Credit 4 - Recycle Content: This credit focuses on the total value and use of materials with post and pre-consumer content that constitutes 10% for one point or 20% for two points.

  • Americlad® solution: Whether sheet metal, composite (ACM/MCM), or extruded products, most of Americlad® products qualify for this credit

Energy and Atmosphere

EA Credit 1 - Optimize Energy: This credit focuses on the ability to achieve higher levels of energy efficiency and performance of the building in an effort to reduce its environmental impact.

  • Americlad® solution:  We offer sun control devices, including sunshades, light shelves, and trellises, which assist in minimizing heat gain and redirecting daylight into the building to improve the building's overall performance and reduce energy costs.

ECO FRIENDLY PRODUCTS

Incorporating an Americlad® product in your next project can offer the designer incredible benefits that may apply towards LEED certification.  Americlad® products are 100% recyclable in addition to utilizing an element of post-consumer and post-industrial recycled content to support the well-being of our environment.  Americlad® products offer a longer life-cycle to enhance the overall value of your project.

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a nationally accepted certification program for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.

Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED serves as a tool for buildings of all types and sizes, including both new and existing structures.  The certification process validates a project's green features and verifies that the building is operating the way it was designed and intended to.

LEED certification covers five environmental categories:

  • Sustainable Sites (SS)

  • Water Efficiency (WE)

  • Energy and Atmosphere (EA)

  • Material and Resources (MR)

  • Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ)

An additional category, Innovations in Design (ID) addresses sustainable building expertise as well as design measure not covered in the five environmental categories.
